The Giving Bak Foundation exists to meet critical food needs in the aftermath of a disaster. We partner with a local church in a disaster area and begin providing food in the relief area.
Our goal is to serve those who are suffering by giving them a hot meal, a hug, and hope. We are a nonprofit organization that has made a commitment not to make decisions based on dollars, but to make our decisions based on the fact that we are to love people when they find themselves in dire circumstances. We flash the number 40 on our logo and site for a couple of reasons. Number one is we plan to come into an area and be ready to serve 40,000 meals to that community. We also need to raise $40,000 dollars each time we deploy to cover meal costs. The number 40 is also a number that comes up time and time again in the Bible. Moses lived in the desert for 40 years, it rained on Noah for 40 days and 40 nights, Jonah warned the city of Nineveh for 40 days, and Jesus fasted for 40 days. The number signifies a period of testing or great trial. And honestly, when a disaster hits, people face some of the greatest tests imaginable. We don’t want them to face it alone.
